Or stubbornness...
Every time you make popcorn, there are always those fluffy, white, happy popped pieces that are fun to eat and look at and everybody likes them.
But there are also always those burnt, hard kernels at the bottom that don't pop.
You know why they don't pop?
They don't pop because they have integrity.
The meditation word for today is...integrity

Benford's Law of Controversy
"Passion is inversely proportional to the amount of real information available."
Reading this made me think of all the passionate-sounding noise coming from the talking heads on network and cable TV (so-called) shows.

Dutch Oven Cobbler
Dutch oven cobbler is one of the tastiest treats known to mankind.
In a dutch oven (the camping kind with legs on it) lined with heavy duty aluminum foil, pour the pie filling in the bottom. Add the cake mix, and make a well in it. Pour in the soda. slice the butter into pats and dot over the cake mix. Cover and bake as instructed for your dutch oven. This will work well in a 10" or 12" oven.
My first experience with Dutch Oven cooking was at Philmont Scout Ranch, probably 1974. I still remember watching our expedition ranger make peach cobbler, thinking that this was the neatest cooking method ever! And tasty! Peach is still my favorite.
Ingredients:
1 cake mix
2 cans of pie filling your choice of flavor (I prefer peach)
1 stick of butter/margarine
1 can of soda

Hey Buddy, those sure are nice pants!
"People in America are now scared of each other. That's why teachers won't put an arm around a crying child, and doctors order unnecessary tests, and ministers won't meet with parishioners. It's a distrust of justice and it's changing our culture."
- Legal Expert Philip Howard, discussing a $6 million lawsuit over a pair of pants lost at a dry cleaners
